Sunday brunch at Mistral Grill, Vasant Kunj- #Review

Mistral Grill

Mistral Grill

Delhi’s Ambience mall has a number of good restaurants, out of which Mistral Grill is one such place where each time you go, you’ll see atleast half of the seats to be occupied. Situated next to PVR theatre, mistral happens to be one of the first few restaurants on the top floor of this mall.

Recently they launched a special Sunday brunch which is quite extensive and has some great options to choose from. They have a dish of the day which changes on daily basis and this dish of the day is there in every course, like there will be a dish of the day in starters, main course, desserts etc.

Mistral Grill

Brunches are the “in’ thing or the trend these days and every restaurant whether new or old is trying to fit in the culture which is why there’s a competition between everyone and more or less everyone is doing good when it comes to brunches. With mistral also coming in the category of the places serving brunch has made an impact with its customers. The chef has a very clear mindset about not wasting food and at the same time offering a good spread. So unlike other places you don’t just have a buffet but you can also order from the menu and according to the portion size you want.

So me and my friend went with chef’s choice and started with salad, cold cuts, Mezze platter, whole wheat pasta and pizza slices. The Mezze platter and whole wheat pasta were my favorite from the starters and the best part was that everything was served in small portions as we asked for it, hence no food wastage. Pizza slices were quite good and filling in their own right and with just 2 slices my stomach said a no. They make fresh breads and every table is served with a bread basket as soon as you are seated.

The breads are super soft and flavorful and if you are a lover of breads then you wouldn’t be disappointed at all. For the main course we opted for Pork chops, well I’m not a fan of pork but these were one of the best pork chops I’ve had till date. Perfectly juicy and cooked well too.

I’m a sucker for good desserts and when it’s  about Tiramisu and things like these then I cannot compromise at all and thanks to the chef for preparing such mouthwatering tiramisu. It was worth every penny and the portion size is huge.

Next time when you’re looking for a good and peaceful place for a sunday brunch then do not hesitate and go for Mistral grill!

Honey lemon Protein Bar

Honey lemon Protein Bar

Healthy eating and healthy lifestyle has become a main agenda on everyone’s “To Do” list these days and this is where these protein bars come in. Rite Bite Nutrition bars are nothing less than an easy way to maintain your food habits in this busy life of ours. While there are many healthy eating options out there in the market but there’s always this one confusion of what to eat and how to eat, especially when you are highly conscious about the taste.

When I received these bars I was quite confused as to how to eat them or will they be tasty at all. But to my surprise these bars are not just a meal in themselves but definitely a tasty treat too. I chose Honey Lemon first to try and my brother decided to go for Choco fudge as he is a health freak who goes to gym everyday.

My first impression of the first bite was “This is good and I like the flavor” well yes, the zesty lemony flavor and the crunchy texture gives the bar a full 10/10 and the fact that it not only kept me satiated for good long time but also gave a me good after taste makes this bar my favorite out of all the three. The Impeccable blend of honey and lemon gives this bar a unique nectarous and tangy flavor which makes it more delectable. Total Calories of 1 bar is 281 whereas Protein content is 20.0g, Total Carb is 29.4g, Sugar is 11.4g,

And here I would like it mention one thing particularly and that is the food. The food was outstanding, from sushi to salads to desserts everything was perfect. Unlike other launches or parties where food often takes a back seat and the explanation is, there were too many people and satisfying each one is difficult or the kitchen wasn’t prepared. But here at Le Meridien Gurgaon, everything was on the spot! No bad food or inefficient service, quick refills and superbly prepared food. The taste was as good as it would have been otherwise in the regular days.

Finest Chinese Treats in New Delhi

Chinese cuisine includes styles originating from the diverse regions of China, as well as from Chinese people in other parts of the world. The history of Chinese cuisine in China stretches back for thousands of years and has changed from period to period and in each region according to climate, imperial fashions, and local preferences. Over time, techniques and ingredients from the cuisines of other cultures were integrated into the cuisine of the Chinese people due both to imperial expansion and from the trade with nearby regions in pre-modern times, and from Europe and the New World in the modern period.
Styles and tastes also varied by class, region, and ethnic background. This led to an unparalleled range of ingredients, techniques, dishes and eating styles in what could be called Chinese food, leading Chinese to pride themselves on eating a wide variety of foods while remaining true to the spirit and traditions of Chinese food culture.

These 10 restaurants are my personal favourite when it comes to Chinese cuisine in Delhi. Some of them are located Pan-India. If you’re a lover of chinese, be it the Indian take of chinese or the authentic flavour, you get every sort of chinese here. This cuisine is rich in flavours and is a treat for non vegetarians because use of sea food and all sort of meats are prepared very differently in this cuisine. Whereas for vegetarians there is a great scope for amazing sauces being merged with veggies and tofu. Chinese Restaurants in Delhi and across India vary from region to region. As soon as you move towards east, the cooking style and even dishes are different as compared to what you get in north side of India. The restaurants that excel in chinese food try to make their food as per international standards but of course keeping in mind about Indian taste palette as well. There is not one but many restaurants, hotels, brands and chef’s exploring this cuisine in India and across the globe. A very tasty and healthy cuisine, chinese happenes to be loved all around the world.
